Ubuntu: No Sound..

I have Ubuntu 9.04 installed everything is fine except the sound
I use Auzentech X-plosion Sound card and Speakers are connected to it using TOSLINK Optical Cable. Here is the output of lspci:

And in the ‘Sound Preferences’, i have set everything to Auto Detect…

Another thing, how do i get my WinTV PVR 150 TV Tuner work in Ubuntu..?

the latest alsa 1.0.21 driver should work. give it a try.

for the tvtuner, install tvtime.

Thats an Xfi right ? It won’t work in Ubuntu, nor in 9.10 :frowning:

Unfortunately the PPA too is stagnating :frowning: The only hope if compile the Alsa or wait for few days Mandriva 2010.0 Rc will have Alsa 1.0.21

LOL, found your thread here: [ubuntu] Auzentech X-Plosion No Sound.. - Ubuntu Forums

and your other post here: [ubuntu] No Sound Auzentech X-Plosion - Ubuntu Forums

Hopefully someone there will post.

Can you try opening sound preferences and unmuting “Digital/Analog output jack” item?

You can also search/post on the alsa-users mailign list: http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Mailing-lists

^^I don’t see any thing like “Digital/Analog Output jack” atall!!

It only has various devices listed..

PhotostarSr: I’m having he same issue though I don’t have the same soundcard

Though I haven’t been able to get it work. I have a realtek 889a onboard sound card chip and ubuntu doesn’t even see that it is a realtek card it says that it is a ATI card (ati is my southbridge)

I can get hdmi audio to work but my receiver won’t play the sound it will only pass through to my tv.

I’ve tried fedora and currently downloading debian to see if that works.

Someone above mentioned that mandriva comes out in a few days with alsa 1.0.21 I will look into that. but this ubuntu sound issue is quite frustrating.

guys any solution…?

No Sound= Disaster for me :frowning:

I can see my Soundcard listed in the Sound Preferences..but still i don’t know why it doesn’t work…
