Unknown 4040 Aluminium extrusion

I’m building a diy bga machine and for the frame I bought some extrusions from a local guy. I didn’t check the dimensions and ordered the sliding nuts. But they were too big for the t slot. Sliding nuts were around 19mm in length and the width the tslot was one around 14mm. I couldn’t find tnuts that are compatible with this extrusion. Any idea what these are?

Is it the nut or the bolt ? If it is the nut you can grind the nut to go through the channel . If it is the bolt then you might have to consider a thinner one and probably weld the nut a little on the sides to make it slide on its sides and nut turn .

I could grind the nuts but that wouldn’t be worth the effort. I have quite a lot of them

These are pretty hard. I thought of 3d printing them but that wouldn’t be sturdy and bga gets pretty hot

Put all those nuts on a single bolt and grind them in 1 shot or take it to a welding shop or lathe shop and a profile to test. Since nuts are 2 sided it wont take much time.

You’ll need the spring type nuts for the kind of extrusion you got, this stuff:

Or you could just drop in regular m8 hex nuts, looks this extrusion was designed for them.

Thanks I’ll get m8 nuts then. Price for spring tnut seem too high
