Updating PS4 games offline

I recently got PS4 and some games with it.

All games I have got are on version 1.0. However, some games have improved considerably with updates/patches e.g. Driveclub.

Since my PS4 is still on FW 4.55 - which might be Golden firmware for it, I am not willing to update PS4 to latest FW so as to access network features. I also want to install those updates/patches - which is not possible to do without connecting to network/signing in to PSN.

I am in catch 22 situation and exploring way to install updates/patches offline. I read up about PSXDownloadHelper but it needs some online connection part hence no go.

Any help would be appreciated.

What’s wrong with 5.0+? I have noticed significant improvements in UI and shop responsiveness.

There are chances that kernel exploits would be available for 4.55 down the line to have a jailbreak-ed console. Right now scene is progressing for 4.05.

Anyone?

The scene has progressed quite a bit and succeeded.

Enjoy!

Here’s the catch 4.05 OFW was from October 2016 and most games in 2017 were over that.

Fingers crossed for 4.55
