I don’t think you would get a wire of less than 0.5m. Even I got Amazon Basics for 7+ which was 1m. Get a braided one which will have less strain on wire when bent.
Thanks. Anything for the converter/connector to connect it to a pc/laptop? The Amazon basics one are non braided one’s only. Isn’t boat selling these wires?
I didn’t get you… That converter connects directly to your pc/laptop. The other end is where you connect your USB-c wire.
The Amazon wire I posted is double-braided one. Check screenshot..
Sorry I missed that Amazon basics one being a braided wire, my bad.
The screenshot that you posted in the last reply, both sides are type c to c. The usb ports in my system are the old one’s in which a normal pd can be inserted. It is for wires like this usb 2.0 - Google Search
How will type c to c wire, like from the last post, fit in a port like this usb port - Google Search
There’s no need of any converter, don’t be so confused. you actually want a USB 3.0 Type A to USB 3.0 Type C cable.
this is the best quality , can tell from experience
I will leave a comment on braided wires since they are kind of an obsession for buyers. In the past, I had purchased multiple wires from AliExpress and all of them were braided because they sell well.
However, when I measured the current for these wires, they were extremely lossy and provided 1.3A output connected to a 2A charger. In contrast, the cables that came with the phones were able to provide 1.95A. Thus, braided on the outside means nothing if the wire uses cheap materials that provide a lot of resistance on the inside.
I would normally go for cables from Anker or Mi since I have found them to be of good quality in general.
this is true only for some cheap quality braided chinese cables available at amazon or aliexpress, other braided cables are premium and provides excellent output. some brands to consider are - Anker, Aukey, Mi, AmazonBasics.
Thank you brother. I didn’t know that it’s called type a to c my bad.
A question, will have to buy 2 separate cables, one type c to type c for the charger and one that type a to c. Instead of the latter is there any converter/connector that does the job? The connector/converter thing is needed just to connect it to the pc to transfer the files.
though it will serve your purpose but these kind of converters aren’t very reliable.
In my opinion it’s better to buy a second cable. (It’s what I do, I also don’t 've a USB C port on my motherboard)
use your default cable that comes with charger USB C to C for charging.
and buy a USB A to C for use with laptop. You probably need it for data transfer only, so there’s no need to buy a high end cable
but if you like you can buy something premium like I mentioned in above post.
Thank you again. though it will serve your purpose but these kind of converters aren’t very reliable.
Reliable as in? Cheap Chinese one’s so bound to go kaput anytime? I am looking for a converter just to transfer to and from the pc.
use your default cable that comes with charger USB C to C for charging.
It is very very short. I would need an extension just for this thing. So, thought of ordering a not so long charging cable and a converter. My budget for both originally was Rs. 500. Any type c to type c wire (normal length would also do) and type c to a converter/connector (which is kinda reliable with decent transfer speed) in this budget?
Things have gone expensive, I am afraid, after Covid and anti-China sentiments. You will need to extend the budget to at least a 1000 bucks to get a good quality cable. Generally, Amazon basics cable are good to go, I have had a positive experience with them. They might be costly, but effective in the long run.
I am very happy with Portronics cables. They are one of the cheapest branded good quality cables. Also have Boat cable. No need to spend 1k.
Also, didn’t your phone come with a Type-C to Type-C cable already. So, just buy a normal Type-A to Type-C cable. These are the ones I have -
Thanks ordered the Amazon basics c to c cable. Is there any converter/connector by the same brand or by some little reputed brand? Buying another cable will be the last option.

Got the cables, thanks. Ordered a converter for someone. I “feel” the cables, Amazon Basics and boat, are slow in transferring the data from the pc to the phone. Same with the converter, used the oem cable with it. Is there any software to test the read/write speeds or something?
Ok, I 'm glad you finally purchased the cables. Nothing wrong with the cables, data transfer speed depends on your PC and phone’s storage. Micro SD card installed in phone is slower than inbuilt UFS storage, similarly SSD on PC is faster than HDD.
To check read write speeds try CrystalDiskMark info for PC and some similar app for your phone
Thanks. Is there any way to check read write speeds of a phone connected to a pc with a usb? That software tells us speed of a pc or a laptop and not if connected via wire.
Transferring of jpegs, around 5000 basically ss’s taken in phone, is taking 4+ hours from the pc to the phone.
