Everytime I install Vista, it stops at Completing Installtion. I have waited for several minutes, actually over half an hour, reformatted my system, repartitioned, brought it back to stock speeds, but just doesn’t help. I have changed the Vista DVD with anyother one.
This is happening since I upgraded from A64 to C2D Asus P5N E SLi
have u tried installing winxp in ur system. there mite be errors on the hdd too.
check it . 1st install winxpsp2 check hdd for errors, try installing vista as 2nd o/s.
Have you made sure that you are installing this to the first partition on the disk, and that the partition is active too?
WEll use Vlite and integrate the drivers of the the mobo-proccy and other in the setup and try again..the end part is where windows installs drivers, so thats the problem i think..
disable jmicron… from bios and then vista will install easily.
PS(jmicron is de esata controller)
repartitioned, changed the graphic card, changed the hdd, changed the ram, still causing problem. sata controller is probably disabled!
its a sign from God. Stick to XP
are you installing vista with 4gb of ram in your rig…let go off 2gb and then try again…few of the members had problem installing vista with 4gb of ram…this should prolly do the trick…
Its time you RMA your old system and buy a new one
. /jk
btw, your birthday is round the corner TB. Give us a party and we’ll prolly install Vista on your old rig itself.
dude…its the 4gb ram if u are using it , Vista 32 will not install , it gets stuck at the completing instllation area…it happened to me in my new rig also , try removing one of the 2gb sticks , or if u are using 4x1GB sticks, try removing 2 of them , install with only 2GB , and then add the remaining after u get to the desktop.
If you are not using 4GB RAM , do this , at the place where it requires you to select the partition in which you want to install the OS , there is an option to load drivers, this is to install SATA and other HDD related drivers which Windowes probably cannot install, use that option , and install the drivers frm ur Mobo Disc, and then try the install…it shud work fine , it did for me
