Hi

I want to buy a new pc,47k
What I have thought ,please add on and give suggestions.

Amd 3400 64 754 newcastle-11.8k
Asus k8n-5.6k
512mb*2 ddr 400 kingston - 7200
psu+dvd drive - 2000(400watts local power supply)
27k,all this is fixed

I already have a 128mb radeon 9800pro ati 8x

HD-80gb samsung,2600
cabinet-1000
kb+mouse-1000
cd rw-1500
6000 till now

Now,i have not more than 14k left in which i have to go for speakers + monitor.

Speakers:
1)I want high quality sound,creative 2.1 is useless

2)I want quality bass,again creative 2.1 is useless

I have in mind sony 2.1(20watts) for 4700approx mrp
Give suggestions

Which monitor should i go for

should i go for samatron 15"tft fro 10k

maybe for high end speakers you can get altec lansing mx5021 for 9k maybe less..

or cheaper option would be the altec 621 for around 6k and i heard it has a better sub though i havent heard it myself

i heard sony 2.1 at a local showroom where they were asking 7k for it and the sound was miserable

for getting a budget 15" lcd i suggest you get a premium 17" crt instead which will be more satisfying

What my primary goal in speakers is to go for higher quality and bass comes after that for me.I can’t spare more than 4-5k.

Could you please suggest me good quality speakers for the same.

I have a sony 180watts music system produces good quality , i want similiar good quality and bass is not that important to me.

try out the sony and if you like it , get it

otherwise get an atp3 for 3k and use the rest on your monitor

And it would be better if you go in for a 17" inch lcd.

(I KNOW it does not fit in your current budget )
i say buy a used 17’ CRT monitor. (samsung , lg) whatever.

They are avialable for around 3 ~3.2K here in mumbai.(pretty good condition)save that 7K* balance money + add (save) some more then when the prices of 17" LCD monitor comes down to realistic levels of around 15K (very soon…) go in for a 17" lcd monitor.
ps: and remember you will get some money when you resell that “used” monitor too.

  • 7k = 14.5 - spks(4 ~4.5K) - 3.2K (monitor)

That said go for a 939 System, get a 3200+ it oc’s very well. If you can get get a Logitecg X530 amazing speakers.

I am not interested in buying a used monitor and i can’t sell my old monitor,forget about lcd i will buy a good 17" flat,suggest for about 7-8k in nehru place ,new delhi.

What is the cost of logitech x530,are they better than logitech z 640(what is its cost) and altec lasning 5.1 251(hat is the cost)?
Could you plz give me costs of 5.1 speakers

A 17" flat monitor is fine,could you plz tell me good ones for 7-8k by samsung.

Since i do not live in Delhi, and since i do not “own” any of the above mentioned speakers i cannot accurately give you the details.
perhaps some of our delhi members will help.

that nehru place has a website i believe, on that you may get an idea of the prices.

If you are set for a 17" flat crt, then get a Samsung Syncmaster 793MB. It costed me approx 8.5k ( the black ones cost more than the white ones ) here in Bangalore, am guessing it should be less than that in Delhi.

Plz give the prices of the speakers and their dealers, the nehru palce site has few prices some of which are not the same for which the components are actually availbale at some places atleast.

dude why dont u go for a 19inch monitor instead of 17inch ??? would that be a great option???
and for speakers i think alte lancing 251 would be best and will defintely fit in ur budget

out of those, z640 is better, much better.
And by the way, if youa re gona use onboard sound then that board has the week bass puch on onboard sound. Its crap if you ask me. You will be beter of geting cheap 4 year old SBlive Value sound card than use that onboard sound. Trust me on this.

those prices are frm mumbai…nd 640 arnt available easily as of today in lamington.
