I was running on Seagate 160 x 3 Sata and Hitachi 250 x 1 SATA II HDD…
Now that i have given away a 160 Gigger Sata to a friend i need to pick up one more HDD… Tell me what to get… Another Hitachi or a 300 Gb Seagate Drive… Also let me know the current market prices…
Also apart for the above two brands which other barnds are good to pick up…

Hey Switch last time i went to buy a HDD i was quoted 4150 for Seagate 250GB SATA and 4350 for Hitachi 250GB SATA. Finally bought the Hitachi.
Prices as on 2nd june at NP.

I got the Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 ST3300622AS 300GB SATA 2 HDD with 16MB Cache & NCQ from Delta thanks to Saiyan & it is a great performer.

^^The 8 MB cache version gives better results actually. Go for the 300 gig 8 MB seagate. For 4.8k its a good buy. The best VFM is 250 gig for 4.1k.
What about western digital? They are now giving door to door replacement if anything goes wrong.They have some models with a 16MB cache memory.They are quite good.

The Model No. is ST3300822AS
The dealer said he dosent know weather it is 8MB Cache one or 16MB Cache one… I needed urgently so picked it up… And picked up the second one for Wolfff … Kindly check the code again and do let me know as i am sure you have mistyped the code udit…

Yeah, thats right, you got the 8 mb version if model no is ST3300822AS. How much did you get it for switch? I got the 16MB version for 5.5k here in chandigarh near about a month back.
