What Is Included as a Part of "Standard Fitting" in Quotation for New Motorcycle?

Hi TechEnclave Community,

This is an off-topic. I am planning to purchase a new motorcycle for daily commute and I have reached out to various dealerships in the city. A thing I’ve noticed with all quotations is that it includeds a component called as “Standard Fitting”. The most recent visit was to a HONDA dealership and I asked them to break it down for me. This is what they quoted.

Standard Fitting - Price - ₹ 3,673

  1. Bumper Guard
  2. Saree Guard
  3. Nimber Plate Frame
  4. Number Plate (HSRP?)
  5. Service Cost

This quote was for the newly launched HONDA CB125 HORNET. I’ve seen videos online where they are unloading the bikes from trailers and noticed that it already comes with mirrors, a saree guard and double stand. If that’s the case, why would the dealership charge me for a saree guard? Wouldn’t this be included in the ex-showroom price?

Let me known your thoughts. Thanks!

Some bikes come with pre-fitted standard accessories for RTO registration . Some of them do not . Depends on the bike manufacturer . Accessories like Saree guard are mandatory and many bikes come with factory fitted saree guard . Crash guard is optional , but some bikes come with crash guard as standard .

The worst is scooters . The dealerships advise whole body crash guard and floor mat with a buzzer and charge 3k for that .

Why a Honda 125 ? Engine is not so reliable . Mileage is good though .

But should I be charged for the Saree Guard if it comes pre-fitted? I hope not. I can understand the piping. It may protect the engine during a fall.

I’m a beginner and this bike is new and budget friendly. What’s wrong with the engine? It uses the same one from SP 125 just tuned to produce more power and torque. Maybe few years down the line I’ll purchase a bigger capacity motor.

No.Suggest you write to Honda and ask them if it comes pre-fitted .

Not that reliable as a Yamaha .I would suggest an increase in budget and get a yamaha
