Where can I find good deals on HDD? Jellyfin and home-server build advice

I have been meaning from switch my jellyfin server from my old college laptop to build new using old parts from an old pc:

CPU: Ryzen 3600x
Mobo: MSI B450m pro vdh
RAM: 16gb 3200MT cl16
SSD: non nvme 256 gb Samsung from the laptop
GPU: Looking for intel arc (TBD)
HDD(planning) : 2x 4tb

Would appreciate advice regarding the pc build, OS, what to look when buying the HDD and general good to knows.

My knowledge level regarding still stuff is of a complete beginner but I can competently understand guides.

HDD prices have also jumped as ssd but certainly nowhere near as ram. If you look hard enough & are lucky enough then you might be able to get 4TB hdd for 11-12k but my suggestion is to instead use debrid via streaming & get only the absolute min storage required (don’t save anything after watching unless you are absolutely sure to watch it multiple times afterwards).

If you are ok with used, check the forum. There are a few posts. There was a post yesterday offering 3 4tb used for 5k each i think.

Always review smart data before buying when buying used though.

I’ll have to wait a few days before I can gain access to marketplace. I’m in no hurry as I want to buy a GPU for the build first. Considering a a4000 as a stopgap till I can get an Intel arc GPU from somewhere. But thank you for sharing this. I’ll make sure to check the smart data before hand when buying used. What is somethings I would avoid if cound in the smart data?
