Which battery for zv e10 camera

I recently got a sony zv e10 camera to play around however the battery backup is not that great. Hence I am looking for spare batteries for it.

It takes NP-FW50 batteries.

I took a look at sony batteries and they are like 5k for one battery whichis absurd.

So, I am looking into suggestions as to which battery I should get.

I would like to know first hand experience of users using third party batteries.

Any do’s and don’ts.

Help me out fellas.

Don’t go for aftermarket batteries. I previously had a Sony a6000, and currently using a ZV-E10. Both use the FW50 batteries. Aftermarket batteries suck. Right out of the box, their life is literally half of the original Sony batteries. And within a few months, they completely die. Your camera will stop detecting them, and they won’t even get charged. Happened with three of the aftermarket batteries that I got. Stick to originals by Sony. They may cost higher, but at least they won’t give you a headache.

Can you tell which brands you have tried?

I remember watching your threads and the beautiful pics you take and now that I know you are using the same camera, I might just bother you a bit for tips and tricks :smiling_face_with_horns:

Powerextra and Digitek.

If you can buy smallrig go for it else go for newell

Have you used these? How long did they last? Did they swell ?

Newell’s reviews seems to be very poor.

A powerbank powering via USB-C would be a good option if you can manage it. You can get much longer runtime.

I would not recommend 3rd party batteries at all.

Powering using powerbank is only feasible at home. Using powerbank while using it handheld is not possible. Hence a quick swap is needed.

Also, the battery takes 2 hours to charge which is the biggest problem. I had no idea these batteries are so slow to charge in this age.

If you buy shit after market batteries then you will get shit results. I’ve been using a set of RAVpowers, for FW50 and FZ100 and they’ve help up quite well. Not as good as originals but say about 90%. Occasionally i’ll get a warning saying incompatible battery but doesn’t affect the functioning. If you get a decent on for under 2K then it’s still worth it.

The smaller batteries absolutely suck.

Is RAVpowers available in India?

Maths of Paying full price for Sony battery doesn’t check out.

Price of 10*Sony batteries== Price of ZV E10 :joy:

Cnsidering Neewer, smallrig batteries. But I can’t them in stock.

Are there any good physical stores in NCR to get these offline?

It does in the long run. I had to throw out the cheap substitutes as well. The original Sony is still going strong after so many years. In any case, it’s your money so you can go with any of the cheap ones. They are all the same throw away quality. The Digitek ones are available for 900/-. You can also check the online camera stores.

How long do orignal one last? If they last more than 5 years then I can surely buy.

What about charger do you have any recommendation?

Mine is from 2017 when I bought the 6300 from a wedding photographer, it has lost some of its original capacity but still going strong. I have not used it extensively though - mostly for trips 5-6 times a year. The Digitek and Neewer were thrown out as they got swollen.

I was charging it in camera but then got a Sony charger from US.

It also depends on how much you use it. In the long run the original battery is better, however at 5x-6x or a cheap after market battery and the decision get’s trickier. IS this for photo or video use?

Primary use case is Video.

Agree, the cost is too much for what it offers.

Yeh that guzzles the battery. You’d rather have 3 after market batteries than 1 original.
