Don’t go for aftermarket batteries. I previously had a Sony a6000, and currently using a ZV-E10. Both use the FW50 batteries. Aftermarket batteries suck. Right out of the box, their life is literally half of the original Sony batteries. And within a few months, they completely die. Your camera will stop detecting them, and they won’t even get charged. Happened with three of the aftermarket batteries that I got. Stick to originals by Sony. They may cost higher, but at least they won’t give you a headache.
I remember watching your threads and the beautiful pics you take and now that I know you are using the same camera, I might just bother you a bit for tips and tricks
If you buy shit after market batteries then you will get shit results. I’ve been using a set of RAVpowers, for FW50 and FZ100 and they’ve help up quite well. Not as good as originals but say about 90%. Occasionally i’ll get a warning saying incompatible battery but doesn’t affect the functioning. If you get a decent on for under 2K then it’s still worth it.
It does in the long run. I had to throw out the cheap substitutes as well. The original Sony is still going strong after so many years. In any case, it’s your money so you can go with any of the cheap ones. They are all the same throw away quality. The Digitek ones are available for 900/-. You can also check the online camera stores.
Mine is from 2017 when I bought the 6300 from a wedding photographer, it has lost some of its original capacity but still going strong. I have not used it extensively though - mostly for trips 5-6 times a year. The Digitek and Neewer were thrown out as they got swollen.
I was charging it in camera but then got a Sony charger from US.
It also depends on how much you use it. In the long run the original battery is better, however at 5x-6x or a cheap after market battery and the decision get’s trickier. IS this for photo or video use?
