Most of the TWS Bluetooth earphones available today are having touch sensitive controls. Many people get used to them too. But there is definitely a breed out there of people who hate touch controls and want actual button controls that give tactile feedback.
Use this thread to discuss such button only TWS, ask for which one you can buy and where, issues with your existing button only TWS and anything under the sun related to them.
Since I am someone who hates touch control TWS, I have always been using ones with physical buttons.
My previous ones were…
Jabra 65T - Too big compared Jabra 75t.
Jabra 75T - Smaller than 65T and has active noise cancellation (ANC)
Both were great for me but broke. Right now I use Soundcore Dot 3i which I am satisifed with and were not expensive (Rs. 1500) when I bought them.
Would love to see what others are using and what other options exist in market for this dying breed of TWS.
I used to have the JBL Wave 100 TWS. They were pretty good quality and I preferred having a physical button.
The only issue I had with them was that the case was open, which looked cool but for a clumsy person like me, if the case fell, the buds easily fell out and got damaged. After one too many falls, the buttons straight up disintegrated and I had to buy another headset.
Second time I bought the ptron bassbuds, because though the JBL ones were only 2999, I couldn’t afford them on short notice. The ptron buds were like a quarter of that, and I meant for it to be temporary, because it has touch control and at that point, I couldn’t find any earbuds with physical buttons for that price.
The ptron bassbuds have lasted me for over a year and a half now, pretty good quality and good case, but the touch controls still ain’t it. They’re supposed to play next on double tap, but more often it just registers only one tap and pauses the song .
Not an option since its no longer available but the Jabra 10 elite with its buttons was a nice change.
What I like best about it is the real multipoint and how quickly it works between my two samsung phones. Not even the buds live or pro are as seamless hopping from one phone to the other and back.
Real pity Jabra exited the game. I got the elite 10 on sale. Too pricey to get another just to have when the first died. They work so well and are very comfortable. Won’t be easy finding a replacement. But ive got a couple of other samsung buds to play with
I at one point did consider it but seems reviews aren’t that good and for me, seems ANC has become a requirement. I understand noise isolation of “In ear” buds is also ok upto a certain extent and makes up for lack of ANC, still ANC is ANC.
And more importantly, with ANC comes transparency mode which is very useful in lot of situation.
Hence at one point, when I was trying to find (button) TWS with both these features and couldn’t find, I settles for the RealMe Wireless Buds 3 which are neckband but pretty good for the price.
