Will the 5750 run on a G31 Pcie 1.0a mobo??

I came across some posts across the internet stating that these 5 series radeons have compatibility issues with pcie 1.0a boards, haven’t come across a problem with the g31 chipset though.

I’m using a MSI G31TM-P21 mobo… can any member confirm whether these 5 series cards, specially the 5750 work with g31 motherboards having a pcie 1.0a x16 slot?? I’m really having a hard time going ahead with my purchase of this card because of this issue… i came across a thread here (can’t find it anymore though) with the issue but nothing definite came out of it.

Please help. Thanks!!

what your total config ?

With that mobo I can say its not gonna be very good and a bottle neck for the GPu

but yes it can work …

it’ll work fine  don’t worry…buy it with confidence! btw wat cpu and resolution ur rig hav?

@Devinwolf well i know its not one of those extreme performance ones, as my build was a bit limited by my budget, but i can live with a bit drop in framerates and i don’t think its gonna be a major issue since i’ll be using it at max 1680x1080 resolution…

I’ve an E5300 @ 2.6ghz, 2+1GB DDR2 800mhz RAM, 320GB WD Caviar Blue, 400watts FSP SAGA2 PSU.

@rahulgoel & devinwolf, are you sure cause i haven’t come across anyone using the card with a g31 let alone my mobo :(… n reading the no POST issues with 1.0a slots has really got me thinking…

Mention ur full config as DevinWolf has said. I need to know ur CPU and PSU especially..

EDIT:-

GO ahead, happy gaming…

Will work fine…no issues…Enjoy gaming!!!

i already stated my config guys… i guess it got lost in the post.

Go ahead , you wont even see any frame rate issue , 1pci-e 1.0 is only bottleneck on extreme high resolution or dual card configuration like sli .

ya no probs for a 5750…go Ahead

ok thanks for the responses guys. gonna get it on sunday  oops i mean tomorro.

mobo should have pci-express *16 slot

that is what is mainly requires
