planning to do a wireless security setup at home of atleast 4 cams.

please let me know what all il need for the setup.

also,
would it be possible to do the setup on a lan network without using the internet.

whats the range of an IP cam?
for long distances(30-40m) how do you make IP cams work?

Wired are more reliable than wireless, along with the camera you will need dvr or nvr depending on if you choose cctv Camera or ip camera. Ip camera with nvr will work out expensive but wireless ip camera are easier to setup according to me. Google pros and cons of both and decide.
Lan setup is possible without Internet. Ip camera range depends on the router and camera antenna.

Depends on the DVR…most of them uses 3.5in AFAIK.

ok i got the setup(dvr with dome cams,HDD and wireless monitoring)
but i would like to add a bullet cam(outdoor) with good resolution and long range(30m atleast)

any links for the same would be welcome.
