Would you recommend Sony Bravia 2 43”

Considering buying the TV which is on sale on Amazon prime day sale.

Limited-time deal for Prime Members: Sony BRAVIA 2 Series 108 cm (43 inches) 4K Ultra HD Smart LED Google TV K-43S20B (Black)

It’s on sale for 38k. With discount(4k) and exchange(6k) it will cost me around 28k.

I’ll buy it on emi. Any suggestions? Or is there a better deal?

Yeah bro, ₹28K for a Sony 43" 4K TV is a good deal. Sony panels usually have Best picture quality — colors and motion are best, as per my experience.

Problem is I currently have a 55" tv. So, 43" would be a downgrade. But, I guess a SONY is a SONY.

I think I’m going to buy the Sony 139 cm (55 inches) BRAVIA 2 4K Ultra HD Smart LED Google TV K-55S25B (Black) if the exchange of my old tv goes through. Will let you know next week if it happens

What is your current TV?

My current to is a crappy 55 in her Chinese tcl. I had to have its panel replaced within 15 months of purchasing it. It was under warranty so it was replaced free of cost.

But now it is going bad again and now it’s out of warranty. It’s been purchased only 6 years ago and out of those 6 years was used was barely used for 3.

I’m now going to use a reputed branded to like Sony.

So, now am dithering on the above mentioned model and this one Sony 126 cm (50 inches) BRAVIA 2M2 Series 4K Ultra HD Smart LED Google TV K-50S22BM2.

May end up with another model but will probably be a Sony or Samsung with Apple HomeKit support

Have ordered the LG AI TV UR7500 126 cm (50 inch).

It was on discount. I hope I don’t end up regretting my decision.

You will not like the display. I have seen these TVs in person last year.

The products are so bad that I decided to get the top model of LG OLED.

The days of Sony, Samsung and LG being good are a thing of the past.

Do not buy a TV for brand value. Visit your nearest store and demo a few TVs in your budget. You can negotiate a price.

No

Size matters. I’d recommend a 55" 4K TV from Hisense/Vu/Xiaomi for under 32k over a 43" Sony. Sure picture quality is better in Sony, but it is not a day & night difference, like say what an OLED panel can provide. Since you will never compare a 55" cheap 4K TV vs 43" Sony side by side, you will never know the difference. You will however appreciate the bigger display size which will provide a more immersive experience.

I cancelled the tv. I’ve decided to hold off. I’m going to buy a 55 incher

Sony has the best colors, viewing angles, motion performance and there TVs also come with moisture protection which is important for us Indians as we don’t have temperature and humidity control at our homes.

Isn’t this the older version
What is the manufacturing year?

yes its old.
this is bravia 2
they have bravia 8 also

I’m gonna sound like an a*hole by saying this, but…

If the budget is at 60K, I’d suggest looking at BenQ projectors instead, if you can find one on a deal.

More specfically, if shopping for new, consider BenQ TH575

https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B0B4J28NTR

Whatever the product says, it is a Full HD Projector. It “supports” 4K playback in the same way your phone supports playback in 4K or 8K.

However, it is very bright and I love it.

Alternatively, if you can find one used from some office, that would be great too. Older BenQ models do have a little bit of fan noise, but they work very well.

If you’re at 80K range, then you can look for good OLED TVs.

Obviously, an OLED TV will give you MUCH better quality, however, for the price I had to pay (25k for an older BenQ model), the quality, brightness and the experience of watching on a 100" projection is worth it haha

Check with LG for extended warranty.

@VijayB which model of LG?

@KAKAN Can you give recommendations for OLED tvs. 80k is a bit out of my budget though. Maybe if I could somehow could get a 36 month emi. Maybe then possible

Usually, only LG C2. A friend bought that some time ago and it’s been working flawlessly. We usually watch dark movies over at his house with the TV, and more colorful movies at my house with the projector xD

But yeah, I’ll admit my knowledge on current budget OLED TVs is a bit outdated :stuck_out_tongue:

Again, even for OLED, if you can find it used, that would be amazing. Just be sure to check for burn-ins and you should be good!

@KAKAN 48” is ₹94K on Flipkart but 36 month emi makes it doable for me.

You said something about projector? Can you elaborate on it?

So, does the projector give you a cinema screen like feel? I have a pretty small room so, I don’t know how much I’ll benefit. Can I project Nintendo switch console, Apple TV, Mac mini also on it.

Never used this projector before so I’m fascinated. A YouTube link would be nice.

A projector like this would be even more expensive. I’m guessing to keep it around ₹3000-3500 emi range, a 48 month emi is required. I’m game if that is possible.

More info comparing the experience to the above oled to would be nice though.

Edit - I saw the link you gave of Benq projector above. I’m guessing it’s that projector. So, it’s actually cheaper than the oled tv? My room is big enough to accommodate a 55” tv. I don’t know how I’ll use a projector. Can you give me some input on this.

Edit 2 - you mentioned about fan noise. That would be a deal breaker. Do all projectors make noise? Also, heat, compared to tv?

I bought an LG 32 inch a few years age with 3 years warranty. I extended the warranty for further 2 year for Rs. 2850. Total 5 years comprehensive warranty.

The purchase was made on Flipkart in the month of September of that year.

I had a very bad experience with Mi TV. In the he second year, one fine day half of the TV screen was not showing any picture. The Mi service centre quoted INR 9000 for screen replacement as it wasn’t repairable.

That day I decided to stick to old reliable brands such as Sony, Samsung and LG.

@VijayB me too. I also have had a terrible experience with my current 55 inch TCL tv. That’s why I want to stick with the likes of Sony. But they don’t come cheap. But I’ve also discovered when you pay in emi, if you take long emis say for 36 months it becomes easier.

So, now I’m looking at an OLED tv mentioned above. Looks interesting and actually I’ll be paying less in monthly emi if I bought a Sony 55 inch Bravia but of course for a shorter duration. I don’t mind paying for a longer duration as long as the emi keeps around the ₹3k range.
