(WTB) Graphic card and Processor

Graphic Card - GT 710 GDDR5

Processor - Core 2 Quad Q6600/Q9400/Q9550

I’m planning to upgrade my old PC, a Compaq SG3430IL.

So far, I’ve added 2×2GB DDR2 800 MHz RAM, 128 GB SATA SSD and 1TB HDD. It’s currently running Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

Here are some additional system details:

Motherboard Manufacturer: MSI

Model: Boston

BIOS: Phoenix – AwardBIOS v6.00PG

Chipset: Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset Family

PSU Manufacturer: BESTEC

Max Total Wattage: 250W

Why not something like a 750Ti btw ?

Will the GT 750 Ti be compatible with my PC?

Does your psu have a pcie cable for powering the gpu ?

Yes

You can find a PCIe slot powered variant.

It’s not equipped with a PCIe power cable.

Some 750 ti models wont work without it.

Looks like a standard ATX power supply if you want to upgrade the system to a better capable one

If you can find these kinds of 750 Ti’s, it may be possible. This can send up to 75W of power through PCIe. But you might be hit with bandwidth limitations, PCIe Gen2 NVM it Supports PCI Express (PCIe 1.1).
Else try getting

  1. Molex to 6 pin(but seems like 1 of the 2 molex is occupied)
  2. Another possibility is SATA to 6-pin (which is not possible since all are occupied).
  3. Get a newer PSU with more connectors.
