Looking to add another node in my wifi mesh. Budget is >=4k. Bigger the model number, the better :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:.

Yessir. Flashed openwrt and played the crap out of it. Now tested the wifi range of it in my new place, and it almost covered 2 floor and roof when placed the router at 1st floor, only few dead zones at ground floor which i now want to cover. Wifi roaming ftw.

PS: TBH if my budget allowed me+ if i was more familiar with openwrt when i bought the first unit from u, then i would’ve bought the 2x MX4300 that u had

What version of Open wrt did you flash, is it stable now. As there were lot of issues earlier. I am using currently on stock firmware only.

Don’t know about the earlier issue, but I suppose it’s stable enough.

There are still issues listed on the OpenWRT page, but I can’t say if I encountered them or not, as I was using AgustinLorenzo’s NSS builds. Interestingly, this build has more wifi roaming options. I don’t know if it is due to the snapshot build or something else.

I also tried EKO’s build but quickly moved to the above one.

PS: pls give me one of your routers XD

Even i am looking for 2 of them . If anyone is selling. Keep me in loop

Are these like all the same as in mx5500 can b a router as well as access point in a mesh ,also say mx4400 can connect to mx5500 also

Say in a pack of 3 mx5500 can any b used a main and others as satellite

I saw one on olx. If you are comfortable buying from olx

depends on location and budget. can u dm me the listing?

Shoot me a price. Shipped to patna

Dual band also exists in same naming range
Pls confirm on Google first
I think FB was dual band

Yes, MX5500 is dual band but i guess it’ll anyway work with openwrt’s wifi roaming.

If it’s not wired it’s not recommended
Triband has a dedicated band of 5Ghz for Wireless Backhaul
It’s going to be detrimental for the whole network if Wireless Backhaul

Thanks, nice to know. I already hard wired my new place so AP will be using wired backhaul, I anyway don’t trust wireless backhaul.

PM for MX4200

I have one LN1301 (MX4300), with 2 GB RAM / 1 GB storage. Brand new in box. Let me know if interested.

@Dushie has MX4200 for sale

didn’t he just bought them? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

No , He was the original importer from ibhejo of MX4200
