Youtube dubbed audio

As the name suggests, creators can upload dubbed audio tracks in multiple languages, reaching a global audience who can watch videos in their preferred language. “Now, when a YouTube creator in the U.S. releases a new video, within moments a fan in Korea, a fan in Brazil, and a fan in India can all watch it in their native language,” YouTube said.

and for some reason there is no reason to disable it, I have listened to some stupid Hindi dubbed videos a dozen of times and have to change the audio in video settings.

Like subtitles are auto-translated at runtime.

Is the audio converted from other languages to all supported languages ?
(didn’t read the entire article to understand how its achieved)

Yes, you click on the video and sometimes it will start playing on your regional language. You have to change it later in that video’s settings.

I am from Lucknow then why the hell youtube change a hindi vlog to english for me :joy:

It is so frustrating. When I reported this to one of the creators, he said that he would have to change the behaviour to pick the original audio in settings instead of auto-dubbed. After that, the creator’s videos were playing in the original audio.

are you using vpn

No, I was just watching in incognito and clicked a random suggested video. All other videos were in original language

Yes it is so irritating now. I have history and location off for Google by default. Now some english videos are getting auto dubbed in Hindi and some in Bengali. Anyone knows any setting to fix this to a certain language?

Just one more thing being shoved down our throat without an ask. As far as I know this is something that’s been tested on a small percentage of users but I wonder how long before they launch this for everyone and Youtube finally starts to catch some flak.
