Hey guys,

I need to buy around five 1.5 ton split air conditioners. Please help with the purchase. I was looking to buy the Onida SZ18GRL 1.5T but am not too sure. I also checked this thread, http://www.techenclave.com/consumer...-chart-airconditioners-110358.html#post813916 and had a word with blr_p but he said that the tables were not right at the moment.

Any other A.C's that I should consider? My budget is 21-22k. The Onida SZ18GRL 1.5T is available for 20,500/- + installation at my place.

Mohit i have been using Onida acs 2 in no. for last 1 year without any problems.

I will definitely recommend it. YOu can be assure you will not regret that decision.

I am also using one electrolux 1.5 t split ac at my clinic. it creates a little bit of noise which i feel is more for a split ac.

for your budget, onida is good. i think LG also has some in that range.

off topic: has anyone tried haier air conditioners? how is their performance? they claim that it will reduce electricity bill by 50% :o

I have increased my budget a bit to around 25-26k and I am mostly getting this Onida model,

DECO FLAT - 1.5 TON - SG18DFL

Onida has the best Power consumption(Lower) when compared to other Splits at the price range. I am getting 4 of them for my new house.

I have purchased 1 T onida FLT model for my sister in chennai. When she came to our house this week, She is complaining that the cooling is not that adequate and she pointed out Carrier estrella which we use here has more cooling and airflow than onida. But i chose more btu unit for her and certainly higher than carrier.

Lol u cant go abt for a comparison between the Carrier and Onida.

Onida is fairing well..

The Estrella being the top-of-the-line model from Carrier, performs at its best; :)

Yeah i know. Perhaps the power consumption figures estrella at its best. I am talking about btu which is more is onida flat but still carrier has the edge in cooling. He inclined towards estrella retails at 27k i told him to buy onida for 18k i mentioned abt savings down the line owning onida. But less cooling makes me to think twice to recommend. Our room size is 12 X 10 and my sisters room size 10 X 10. This machine is just 1.5 month old and estrella is 15 months old. No AMC just regular filter cleaning

Got one ONIDA DECO FLAT - 1.5 TON - SG18DFL installed today. Testing it now. Working fine. Damage was 25k all inclusive.

Right now chennai is too hot to handle. both units are in chennai. One observation Estrella cant go down below 22 C at this moment for the period of 2 hours from 37 C (room temperature). Heat waves are more and it heats our entire home

The Onida model I picked is working fine. Very good cooling and totally silent. Outside temps at my place are 45C and more.
