i need 1 TB externel HDD....m looking for WD...can u pls tell me the price in market..also wot if i assemble one with Laptop HDD..will it reduce the price!?

WD essential 1TB - 5600+ (only USB support)
WD home 1TB - 6800+ (eSata, firewire - eSata cable not included)

Do not go for maxtor,seagate

laptop HDD 1TB will be quite costly

Do not go for custom casing as there could be heating issues and the power supply may not be reliable

You can go for a hard disk docking station and use an internal disk with that
