I am looking to get my first D-SLR this September. (Yay!) My budget is ~35k.
The two canons that fit within my budget are the 1000D and the 500D, and I am stuck between them.
From what I could gather from stating at spec sheets the real world pros for the 500D are:
* Better low noise performance: A plus for me because I like taking pictures at night
* Video: always nice to have
* Faster continuous shooting.
And the plusses for the 1000d are:
* 10k cheaper, thus enabling me to get a cooler lens right off the bat
* Cheaper, and yet has all the feature I would typically need.
* Cheaper, you get the drift...
I do have some experience with film SLRs so beginner friendliness is not a factor for me. I am not willing to look at the Nikon D3000 or the just announced D3100, because they *do not bracket*.
So folks, your opinion: 1000D+goodies or just the 500D.
PS: I am going to get the fifty prime either-way.
