120mm on plusview1000amg

Where do u want the fan? Top (in front of the CPU) or the base?

Perhaps u cud cut open a 120mmx120mm hole and drill 4 holes and mount a 120mm fan on it. Also, if can put some cheapo ready made grills if u cant find any fancy one. Or, u cud get in touch with sunny and get ur own custom-design grill cut on a metal sheet or acrylic :D

If he's too busy, let me know.. i'll try to get them done for ya..

But, if cutting on the side panel is the problem u r facing, perhaps u cud try with a hand held dremel. Or get it professionallt cut by an artist.

Does the 1000AMG come with only a single fan mount? And i was under the impression that all antec cabinets come with 3-4 fan mounts out of which atleast one of them is for a 120mm fan.

Maybe you can get the side panel cut by a guy in a hardware shop(not computer hardware,if you know what i mean.)

any idea if or how should i mod the sidepanel to fit a 120mm fan on the antec plusview 1000amg cabinet.
the sidepanel already has a acrylic side panel with a provision for a 80mm fan right ? will be tough i think to mod it properly to fit a 120mm fan. might be easier to use a 80mm fan with a slightly higher rpm

do not put 120MM FAN on the side pannel.
It does more harm than good.
Putting 120mm fan on side will lead to tremendous +ve pressure in cabinet. Its not good as there is whle lot of air comming in and less going out. Causes improper airflow and air tends to remain inside causing temp to even rise.
Also +ve pressure means dust will tend to accumulate on components inside.
80mm should be used on the side pannel and 120mm on backside and front if needed.

the best thing to do is cut a 80mm or a 92mm hole right infront of the processor and make a duct of some sort, even a rolled up paper tube like thingy. Brings down proccy temps by a lot and helps to bring in fresh air too......

EDIT ; Ohyeah, dont forget to put a good high cfm fan in the 80mm or the 92mm hole :ohyeah:

funky is right.. i have had good results with proper intake and exhaust fans alone.. such that taking off my sidepanel increases temps.

make sure no wires etc obstruct the airflow
