90K+ 1440p first gaming build, advice needed

As a 7900GRE owner, I won't recommend one at 60k (bought my Pulse for 54k). Both 7900GRE & 4070S prices are increasing. Better to save a few thousand with Asrock.


10% performance boost with OC is generally easy with 7900GRE but I think the Asrock one might run too hot with power limits increased to 295W. Also, if you find 4070 Super from Asus, MSI, Gigabyte or Zotac for 55k or so, can consider that if you will not be targeting a resolution higher than 1440p. I have a 4K TV, hence wanted the 16GB VRAM. Surely there were cases where GPU was fast enough for native rendering above 1440p & max textures were crossing 12GB VRAM.
 
If not in hurry, might make sense to wait for 5070/9070(xt), esp the latter.
FSR4 might be a lot better vs FSR3 on GRE, and AMD has stated that they want to capture market share. If they want that, they will need to give good value.
Just look it up and looked at rumored perf of 9070xt and decide.

To me, 12gb vram at this price range is a crime and limits its future potential.
 
I am building a similar PC. My intended use is also similar. These are the parts I've ordered:
CPU - ryzen 5 7600
RAM - G.Skill flare x5 6000 mhz cl36 2x16GB
Mobo - Asrock b650m hdv/m2
PSU - Deepcool PM750D
CPU cooler - ak400
Storage - WD SN580 1 TB
Case - MSI MAG 120A airflow

For GPU, I am still waiting for 5070 ti or AMD 9070/9070 XT till march, if they disappoint, i'll probably buy a 4070 Ti Super. I want to buy a 16 GB GPU, preferably nvidia because I do some deep learning experiments too.
I would recommend you to save some money on your RAM, PSU and storage and upgrade your GPU.

The current cost of above parts without GPU is around 56000.
 
4070 super pricing is on the high side right now. Have seen it in the range of 50 to 52k for the zotac one. And 7900 GRE pricing is also high.

You could wait for the release of 50 series equivalent gpu. Not only it will affect the pricing but the 12gb vram would also be a issue in 4070 super as it will not be future proof so you could check maybe nvidia will give 16gb vram this time. 12gb vram would become a bottleneck for you in 2k res.

For ssd you could go for a different brand instead of acer like wd, xpg or crucial. You can get it for less as well.
 
- saphire nitro+ card was chosen because 1) excess budget was present 2) it has imo the best combination of build quality, performance, noise profiles and rgb aesthetics among the 7900 gre cards

- asrock rx 7900 gre challenger has two fans, thermals may be impacted especially during overclocking
- acer predator gm7000 offers faster read and write than western digital black SN770 2TB (check below)

- computech, primeabgb both have a physical retail store based out of mumbai, pcstudio likely does not
- sapphire pure 7900 gre chosen because of aesthetics (better fits all white theme), and because it has slightly better performance, asrock 7900 gre may be chosen instead if budget is an issue.
- lian li lancool 207 present in computech as well, likely at lower price (check below)

- if budget permits I would suggest adding an extra rear fan for another INR 1000, this too should be present at computech (check below)

Lancool 207 maybe new release but not a good design in many aspects - Cable Management, Front panel connectors are fixed at top (not so convenient), PSU on front connected via custom-sized extension cable.

Overall, compare to Lancool 216 it is a downgrade for its price. OP can wait for Lancool 217(wood) or get the 216 right now.

The MSI MAG A850GL has flat cables so cable management shouldn't be an issue for the Lancool 207 if installation is being done by an experienced person.

I don't suggest 207 because of cable management, 216 is easier to build. 5C lower temps doesn't matter much. It is not a laptop.
 
Just watched this video by Hardware Unboxed and honestly the market looks so disappointing. Do consumers really have no power against nvidia?
Leaving this aside, thank you so much guys for the awesome suggestions. I've decided to wait for the 9000 series launch. I'll post the updated build here before purchasing.
