I am planning to buy 1 tb internal hdd .. where can I find it cheapest online....any links will be helpful....btw here in bangalore I can get wd and seagate 7200rpm at Rs2700..can I get any cheaper than this ??
 
I am talking About internal hdd...are they really that costly ? My friend recently got one for above mentioned price

HDD prices have increased very rapidly. It would be best if you can wait for at least a month or two for the prices to decrease.

Thailand makes a quarter of the HDD's in the world.

For laptops the price is higher due to smaller form factor drives 2.5" discs compared to standard PC 3.5" and associated die shrinks and aggressive packing of more sectors on lesser [physical] disc space.

The floods just ramp up these costs further due to loss of stocks, which cannot be replenished.

This quarter is washed out because all fabrication units in Thailand are out of commission for atleast one more month.
 
How reliable is hydshop.in ..... they have listed Rs 2999 for 1 TB seagate 7200 rpm. Should we grab the offer?

I just called up the above and Seagate is no longer available. WD is available for Rs 4600/- They are sending me the online link to buy. What are the best rates elsewhere?

No mail as yet from above source.... 2 hours have past. Meanwhile I am scouting rates all over the world .... it goes upto Rs12500/- yes for 1TB @ 7200 rpm

had been to lamington on thursday and @ mahavir the HDD (1TB) were selling for 4.5k.

better visit that shop and get your HDD anyways :P
