Storage Solutions 1TB HDD suggestion

Hi frnds,
I am planning to buy a 1TB internal HDD . Currently I have Seagate 500GB installed. Will my current config support additional 1 TB?
MB: Asus M3A78-EM
CPU: AMD ATHLON X2 64 5000+ (2.6GHz)
HDD: SEAGATE 500GB
OS: WIN XP/ WIN VISTA (IN DUAL BOOT)

Your motherboard has 5 x SATA 3.0Gb/s ports. so you can plug not only 1 but upto 4 HDDs hyeah:

WD Caviar Green or Seagate 7200.12. I have the WD's and they are O.K. Seagate dunno..

The Seagate 1TB is currently priced at 4k and the fastest 7200 drive out there

For what purpose are you gonna use the drive?

If its just to dump data, then go for the Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB.

If you plan to install OS on it, then get the Seagate 7200.12 1TB. You could also look for a Western Digital Black 1TB which is faster, but is more expensive at around 6.2k.

go for Seagate 7200.12 (12th generation) 1 TB.. Its good .. and 12th generation hdds are less susceptible to crash ... unlike 11th gen which had a high Crash rate
