Ok so my trusty old artis have conked off... and with speakers being the most imp. component, I am left in the lurch.

I can spend max 6.5k I heard the MX 5021 are coming in that range nowadays, but with de-graded quality... So what options do I have, main use movies and music...
 
you can check out klipsch promedia 2.0 as well which is great for music , though you might find the bass lacking a bit
 
Hmm Then I need to find where in Mumbai can I get one ? Also any other options in that range ?

2.0 wont do, need the bass :)
 
why not check the edifier C3? Some mum fellas have got them, we can use a review or two of the same. Looks like a decent contender in the sub 5k scene.

I'd bought it from RP Tech at 6.5k. Was a good deal back then.

Who said the recent ones came with a degraded quality? :(

AFAIK they take a period of a week to 2 for burning in. Once they do, they sound too good. :)

PS: The new ones however come with a different cone. [See my rig for eg.] A single curved cone with no flat caps as opposoed to the older ones. They dont've any performance drops as I've heard the older ones from a friend's system!!!

It was me who posted that the new piece of MX5021 was not sounding good.

But that was because of the piece I got which was damaged in transit.

I got the replacement also, and this one is just awesome.

I've paired it with M-Audio Audiophile 2496.:ohyeah:
 
anyone heard of the the 4121 (dunno if i got the model no. right) frm Altec Lansing.......the guy frm Mccann said it is the successor of the ATP 3 series.....it costs 2.8k.....anyone have any ideas if it is worth looking into ??
 
I asked at Prime and Mccann, the price of MX 5021 has increased to Rs 7150, outta my budget now hence will be getting the 4121. I heard its a replacement of ATP 3, I am getting that for 2800...
 
@aces: dude, let ur ears decideit for you rather than teh reviews n opinions. Go listen both the C3s n the 4121 n take a call.

Its not everyday that u buy speakers.
 
Y call it replacement when its been around for years.?
4121 is just ok. Only attraction is the price. One should go for it only if the budget is only so much.

how much do the C3s cost ??
 
go for edifier c3 if u can get it for around 5k...yup the mx is being priced more....i got mine @6.9k from baroda....all dealers quoted insane rates from 7.5k-7.9k:@....finally got my trusty dealer to gimme at 6.9k n i was happy with tht.
 
Got the VS4121, and its nothing to write about my old trusty Artis S500 were running circles around it,. The mid is totally lacking and bass is too heavy.. I was just listening to trance on ep630 on my creative zen for 2 hrs while coming back frm work, and then rt now am listening to the same track on 4121, huge diff :) whoever said that ep 630 is bass heavy has to be kidding, its just perfect for electronic freaks.

The ATP3 I had heard long back were much better, nevertheless I wanted one urgently hence....
 
^^ Lol thats what happens when you are working and your only form of sanity is the comp, so even one day without it is frustrating...

So get hold of whats available and use it till it dies.. all my comp upgrades this yr have been due to hardware dying then a want for performance upgrade :)
