Monitors 23 inch led monitor vs 27 inch tv

Hi guys, i want to know which one will be better a 23" led monitor or 27" tv for 1080p gaming.I'll be connecting it to my pc.with tv i have a benefit that i can put it on the wall and also watch tv while pc will be running in the background.But i don't want to compromise on quality. I know led monitors have great quality but not sure about the tv.so please suggest me which one will be better.thanx
 
Which 23" monitor and 27" tv?
The panel type like IPS, TN, PVA matters more than LED or CCFL backlighting.
Your TV resolution will also matter if you're reading text, but not for gaming.
 
I use a 32" 1080P Samsung LCD TV as my monitor; connected via HDMI to the PC. For general/web viewing it is great and for movies as well. One caveat is that you need to change a menu setting every time you want to watch a movie as the HDMI mode is too bright for the web. But apart from that its great to have such a large screen especially for PC games!
