Guys donno how do they sell it so cheap.
but at the price it has lots to offer.

Exactly my point.
Thats the catch i guess....no warranty or anything.
No wonder the cost is so less:ohyeah:

But, i am surprised at the user rating of the product though.

Plus the 256Mb is really low "if" its manages to play video. The video playback might be a pure gimmick............ I dont think this player would play mp4 @ full 23 or 30 fps.

looks nice :) ...dunno abt the performance and reliability
neone willing to try one and post here? :bleh:

Hehe, i guess it was yesterday nite, while i was watching aajtak and a dumb new reader started telling, there is a new craze of mp3 and beople are buying mp3 at trade fair. buying MP3! later on in the report they showed the mp3 players and featured the same on in discussion here. They flashed it for quite a while, it was the same as the pic posted here. Dunno abt the video playback quality but it sure seemed jerky on tht tiny screen from the looks of it on the TV. Mite be something to do with the refresh rates somewhere :p

Mite be something to do with the refresh rates

Naah...blame it on the proccy inside this e;-cheapo device...U need decent processing power to handle decryption and rendering of mp4 vids in real time while managing 25 fps +

Those are quite good actually, my bro. recently purchased a similar one with 1G memory for about $100(inclusive of shipping) from ebay.com.Works nice, no prob with playback.Sound Quality is also decent, especially when you put a good headphone with it.
The only thing is its screen is very tiny, so video playback ain't that much fun and yeah warranty, you never know when its gonna screw up.

mp4 videos arent high on quality anyways..

not really...What is divx if not an offshoot of mp4....

Encode a high qulity video at a high enough bitrate (~2K) on DivX and you'll be surprised at the size/quality ratio

agreed but that would come to over 300mbs in size....and this player only comes of 256mb.....besides i am talkin abt the ones available to dload off the net

mp4 videos arent high on quality anyways....so u cant complain about the playback :P

mp4 by itself has nothing to do with video quality :) .mp4 is a container, just like avi. the quality of the file depends on the codec used and encoding settings (like how xvid and divx are used in avi files. usually x264 files in .mp4 can give really nice results if the guy who is doing the encoding has some decent knowledge about it).
