My 2TB WD Black internal HDD showing "current pending sector = 3".
This a year old HDD. My system is not booting properly .. asking to restore OS (win7).

Please guide me resolve the issue.

Should I format the HDD and reinstall the OS .. will this help?

This is exactly what I have on one of my 1TB Seagate Barracuda drives. Sadly it isn't in the warranty period any longer. I just use it now as a disk for storing unimportant stuff.

those bad sectors are at the beginning of the drive where boot parameters are stored.
you will have to use test disk to recover the boot sector and rebuild it to another good sector.

after you can get the drive to boot using test disk, copy all important files off it to a new hdd. you can use this old hdd by partitioning off the first 250MB disk as raw and utilize remaining disk space for storage of stuff like movies, etc which can be deleted or lost without any tears if the drive decides to die suddenly.
