Storage Solutions 3 HDDs died in few minutes.

I am running my PC on 250GB Seagate HDD.
it was working fine and suddenly died when i restarted my PC.
Then i connected my friend's recently bought 500GB.

it died after loading OS.
then i immediately opened 1TB WD green.
it too died when booting up.
i have seen smoke coming out of HDD.

can i get warranty for all these drives.
what was wrong suddenly?

i don't think you can get warranty and it seems to be a case of faulty smps...

probably psu is culprit , if hdd pcb has any sign of burn i doubt they will RMA

The PSU could be at fault. Dont try to boot your system unless you confirm the same.

If those drives are under warranty, then you can get them replaced.

Check you PSU. Faulty wiring, improper power supply, circuit shorting out, etc are the probable causes here.

PSU!! has happened to me. Immediately bought a CM then and vowed never to touch cheapo brands.

I recently purchased used Zebronics platinum 400W from a TE member.

Now that all HDD are dead, i am running the PC with linux CD.

^^ There ya go- that's the problem. I am not sure how good is that psu and you haven't made any efforts to display your complete configuration.

Yup, it seems like a PSU problem. And from now on I will stay away from Zebronics.
