My friend's 32GB Transcend pendrive was working fine till one day last month. I copied some files to it and after that it refused to open anywhere. It had some 25GB of data at that time. Before that, it never gave any errors or problems whatsoever.
What we have tried:
The result is the same always. The pendrive is detected most ports in a few desktops and laptops. It shows in My Computer as Removable Disk (drive letter
. Right click and properties shows Unknown device, which is of 0bytes free and used space.
Format does not work. Windows format option does not work either. GParted and LLF tools don't detect the pendrive at all, while all other HDD's/PD's are detected.
The data recovery softwares are hanging.
So the current status is that it refuses to open anywhere at all. I don't know how it happened and would like some advice regarding this situation. The pendrive was bought about a year and a half ago from abroad and my friend lost its cap. Is there any chance of RMA?
