Must be watching live 4k porn on this?
Haha.

MTNL !!!
WTF plan is that ?

Leased line from MTNL at office. We have three 1Gbps leased links from them.[DOUBLEPOST=1414483904][/DOUBLEPOST]

[OT] Sorry for asking this query here.

My net speed is 2Mbps. I share the same wifi connection on my PC and my Mobile. I get 230 to 250kbps download speed on my PC, whereas I get full 2Mbps download speed on my mobile. How is this possible? For e.g It takes 9 mins to download a 1gb movie on mobile, whereas same 1gb movie takes approx 55 mins on PC.

Has someone faced such an issue?

Try factory resetting your modem and set it up properly as guided by your ISP and try it out.

If you are downloading a 1GB file in 9 mins then your speed is 15.xx Mbps.

Your ping times are pretty high for your PC - 148ms vs 14ms on mobile. You most likely have a very weak signal to your PC.
Wifi router is connected to PC by a cable. Ping should be lower compared to mobile but its the other way round.

@rdst_1 How is my speed 15.xx Mbps then? 1gb~1000mb (rounding off for cal).. My speed = 2mbps.. ~ each second it downloads 2mb.. for one minute 2x60 = 120mb. So 9min x 120 = 1080mb.

Half the posts must be in the Broadband section of TE or in Showoff section :( really irritated at what goes around as Internet connection here.
Anyways good initiative by the pple using RTI.

3 dedicated 1Gbps lines, so total bandwidth available is 3 Gbps
MTNL Mumbai has total capacity of 21Gbps, They provide Residential Broadband to 6.5 Lakh customers and leased lines to few hundred corporates + ~ 120-150mbps allocated to their DC and Rest bandwidth to Cell sites.

I doubt your firm gets 3Gbps solely from MTNL.

Totally offtopic and noob question but please help me understand here.
Say MTNL starts providing 1 Gbps Internet connection then it can only serve 21 customers as per its current capacity ?
Sorry if the question is totally stupid.

1GB = 1024MB = 8192 Mb
Speed = 8192/(9*60) = 15.xx Mbps ~= 2MBps

Here B = Bytes and b= bits and 1Byte= 8bits.
All ISPs advertise speed in Megabits per second whereas your download manager shows speed in Mega/KiloBytes per second.
So your PC is getting the correct speed according to your plan, but I have no explanation for the speeds on your mobile, if this discrepancy is true for every download.
