35+ sites blocked on Tata Photon +

just noticed that mediafire,rapidfire,etc. werent opening
Did the DNS change, try from other connection etc. worked on my college net
Called up Photon+ CC -- technical dept

Was told that there is a list of 35+ sites including rapidshare,mediafire,dailymotion which has been blocked on govt. order and will remain blocked till orders to remove the block arent received

Also, the block isnt implemented on a DNS level, rather they are dropping the packets at the point where they leave Tata network as per traceroute

Its the same old filehosts blocking.
If you have a premium account all should work fine.

With the earlier block, https://www.mediafire.com worked fine

not so now

Checked with a friend, the sites are working on Airtel (atleast mediafire is)

Why the block only by tata?

For such blocks reliance leads the way because of conflict of interests on their part.
Do not know why tata is taking the initiative here :S
