3G may be non-starter in 2010

Fears that 2010 could be a washout for 3G auctions altogether are getting stronger with the DoT now planning to dramatically reduce the auction offering from four to just two pan-India slots.

The 3G auctions have already been delayed by over a year. DoT sources confess to an anxiety buildup as a result of this delay. "The belief that bidders will place conservative bids if spectrum is to be allocated several months after the auctions with no certainty about the allocation schedule has forced a rethink", admitted a senior DoT official.

Now getting 3G this year too, seems tough, may we should skip 3g and migrate directly to 4G

i will be surprised if they even provided high speed adsl line for lower price in this country

We are very backward in tele communication worldwide, there is no interest in our countries politicians to broadband and 3G. It is so sad that we cant even implement it and the world is moving towards 4G already...It is sick.
