0-10K 4" Touchscreen Phone from big brand ~7k-8k

Hi

I personally have no knowledge about the latest happenings in the mobile world as I rarely change phones.

My neighbor is looking for a Touchphone of at least 4" Display.
He is not very tech savvy so he wants a simple but good looking phone
It should be a sturdy phone and he prefers the Nokia or Samsung or Sony Brands
Windows or Android platform is acceptable

Even a few months old model is acceptable, if it has really VFM

His budget is not more the 7-8 k

Please give some recommendations in this range

The Lumia 520 is available at around 9K, and the UI is far smoother than anything available in that range. Has a big display, the most commonly used apps, and a decent battery life. Check out the Lumia 520 thread, some folks have already bought it.

+1 to Lumia 520. It is better to spend some extra money to get better handset. In slightly lower range, I would suggest Huawei Y300. Not used that one personally, but a friend has one and is more or less satisfied with it. Would not suggest Micromax, Karbonn and other Chinese-rebranded stuff as it is a bit of a gamble to buy these.

Sorry Shravan, but taking cue from your thread - has anyone got to see the newly released Nokia 501? design is similar to Lumia 520, and initial reviews look good. would that phone be worth buying for a budget of 6k?

Lumia 520 should suit the requirement, check the HS18 superdeal page, you might get one at in your budget range.
