Hi,
I have purchased a new LCD TV : Samsung 40' series 5
I tried connected my comp using VGA/Dsub cable but under source its not getting detected.
Need to make sure I am doing it correctly (no problem with TV)
(I used DVI to HDMI cable and quality is amazing.)
Please help...

yeap..

As mentioned in the manual

selected 1024x768 @ 60Hz.

Tried 800x600 also but no matter whats the case, I am not able to select PC source. always greyed.

then its probably the VGA/D-sub cable fault.try it with a differnt cable if it doesnt work try with a different comp or graphics card

currently I don't have any other cable ....will try later

is there any other way to check......

WTH? Why 1024x768?

Isn't it a FHD panel? shouldnt you be going the wole hog and get 1920x1080?

Or at least 1360x768?

Even my half decent (native res wise) panny does WXGA.

There should be an option in the TV osd to set comp (source) resolution that you are providing.

update:
The problem was VGA cable.....changed and everything is ok now

just for info:
VGA : clarity is really good (was not expecting this)
DVI-HDMI : Picture is razor sharp (even if stand less than 1 feet to tv)

Time for HD movies....:hap2:

BTW: I am not able to figure out what is this PC audio in connection ...thought its 3.5mm jack but afraid to force the jack in...Could some on confirm.:S
