Q: What is your budget?

Ans: 40K

Q: What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)

Ans: Donated my existing PC to NGO.

Q: Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)

Ans: None
Q: Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.

Ans: I am planning to buy following config.
1. CPU - Intel core i3 530
2. Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-H55M-D2h
3. GPU - MSI Hawk/Sapphire HD 5770
4. RAM - 2x2GB DDR3 1333MHz
5. Hard drive- Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB
6. Cabinet: CM Elite 430/ Sunbeam Ventmax/ Cooler Master 310
7. PSU: Corsair CX400
8. Monitor:Samsung B2030. Considering i am buying HD 5770 ..is it advisable to go for samsung "B2230" in lieu of "B2030" but then if i buy samsung 22 inch monitor i may overshoot my budget.
9. Speakers - Not particular brand. Any good 2.1 affordable speaker
10. CD/DVD Drive:LG 22x DVD writer

Q: Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component

Ans: Yup.Most probably final configuration. But can upgrade after 2 years.

Q: Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)

Ans: Mumbai

Q: Would you consider buying a second hand hardware from the TE market

Ans: No

Q: What is your intended use for this PC/hardware

Ans: 1. Gaming
2.Watching HD movies

Q: Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them and the reason for your preference/dislike.

Ans: I prefer Intel CPU and motherboard. No particular reason. I am not an Intel Fanboy. I am more comfortable with Intel products. It's just my personal like for Intel. That does not mean I dislike AMD. Nothing wrong at all with AMD. But I would be very grateful if u give suggestions based on Intel CPU/ Motherboard.

Q: If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?

Ans: FPS like Crysis, Crysis warhead, COD Modernwarfare 2 at medium-high settings.

Q: What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage

Ans: Gaming - 1600*900, 1680x1050, 1920x1200.

Q: Are you looking to overclock?

Ans: No

Q: Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?

Ans: Windows 7 64 bit

Ur choices are pretty good though u would get more feature rich mobo for AMD for the same price point.

For RAM get Corsair Value ones. 4GB should cost ~4.6k-4.8k

Going for an AMD will help u save a bit if u go for a PII X4 925 or lower athlon quad core... u could actually squeeze in a GTX 460 cuz the GPU always matters more in gaming... quad core would also be more future proof than a dual core i3 proccy...

Hmmm....HD 5770 and a 20 inch monitor..is it all right?? or should i go for 22 inch monitor??:cool2:

For HD 5770...is it advisable to go for 22 inch monitor?? or will 20 inch monitor be perfectly all right for HD 5770??

Up to you man with a 20 inch monitor lesser stress on the card and better frame rates with slightly more Eye candy, but the 5770 is no slowpoke and should be able to handle almost any current generation game you throw at it with little or no difficulty

also for processor and Motherboard combo would recommend the AMD option as it saves money gives a quad core instead of a dual core also the motherboard you have zeroed in on has Electrolytic caps so lesser life time ( due to heat ), finally with the money you save on the AMD rig why not aim to get the Nvidia GTX 460 1 GB DDR5 edition from Zotac or XFX much more power than an 5770 and more future proof hope this answers your Qs bru :)

thx buddy .. from ur specs i guess u are using MSI HD 5770..Is it MSI Hawk HD 5770 or just MSI HD 5770....What is the size of ur monitor 20" or 22"??

Unless you really want to play the latest games immediately, I would recommend waitng 2 months for the fremi mainstream and the Radeon 6000 series to launch. The nvidia GT 450 is scheduled to launch this mont and perfomance is expected to be in between 5750 and 5770. AMD has not reduced the prices of the 5000 series for a long time, this new launch and the need to get rid of stock before the launch of 6000 series will force AMD to bring prices down.

Why not get this rig instead of the i-3 530 combo. U will get a decent quad core so that u dont get left out as games increasingly scale well on all processor cores.

Bench - CPU - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News (955 vs i-3 540. As 945 is not listed for comparision. So compared the next faster iterations.)

Clock for clock the PhenomII X4 and i-3 5xx are neck to neck in games. But the PhenomII X4 wins in most productivity apps.

I have included a 22" at the cost of a decent 2.1 speaker set. If u cant exceed budget by even 1k then go for a 20" monitor and a Altec Lansing BXR 1121 ~ 1k
If u can afford 1k more then get the above config+speakers.

Bullshit man the dealers are biased to Intel due to more favorable policies and commission towards them by Intel
