then there is the new LG LH90 which has local dimming LED,but since it uses a IPS panel despite having local dimming the contrast is boosted upto a certain point in certain areas.although i haven't seen it yet,my guess is that it will definetly match or surpass the contrast levels of most lcds and plasmas sold currently.
