The major difference between the Jazz and the Scarlet is the sound output. The Jazz has amazing sound with multiple subwoofers. If you have /planning a Home theater setup then maybe you can go the for the scarlet otherwise for a similar picture and better sound the Jazz is a good option. I did observe that the Jazz did not have a good clarity on SD for local TV channels at the dealers place, to which the dealer told me that they attach multiple TVs to a single input connection and picture quality was usually better if you attach a single TV only. He did demo that as well and I did try some movies which I was carrying on a pen drive as Jazz supports movies of a pen drive. The sound and picture were excellent on the Jazz and I never tried the same on the Scarlet as the sound quality sold me completely towards the Jazz. At home, the Jazz works nice on the SD mode even though I have vanilla cable tv and do not have Dish.

I did get a free LG USB based dvd player along with the TV. The files which did not play on the TV didnt work on the LG dvd player too so I was not really worried about those. I just attached the TV to my PC and watched them.
Actually got it in Jan when they had the dvd player, movie dvds and a 2gb mp3 player free with the Jazz. It was a nice deal I think.jesal said:ok. i am guessing u got the player free during the diwali time right ? let me know just in case.

jesal said:ok i dint know that. will check both. problem is samsung is 40 and lg is 42. we sold a 42 recently and taking this new tv in new home. my mom wants a big tv. actually she'd like a 103 inch the but price is crazy. so i want 42 or 47, any 47 inchers in 60k bracket at all ?
