Graphic Cards 4890: some numbers

Tested with Catalyst 9.3... 9.4 that will come with the card is expected to bring some more performance :)

So far, the card looks promising but not much of a scene stealer the way 4870 was. Nvidia should be able to match it with GTX275. BTW, the launch date seemed to have been brought forward to April 2... let's see how it goes.

^Obviously it will be way slower...Its barely faster than GTX260 so i dont think it will come close to gtx280 itself, nowhere near 4870x2/GTX285/295.

I guess ATi is doing what Nvidia did (and still doing). Selling us the same stuff .. with a diff name . with jacked up clocks.

Well the default card will be slowed but none of the manufacturer going to sell this OC giant at factory settings , Asus and His already planned differnt cooler and Overclocked version for this card..

When OC this can surely crunch great numbers ;) and with better cooler like companies are planning it will be even great :)

This card is more like to be a 4880, with the performance comparing to 4870, hardly about 5% faster. Doesn't the 260 look a tad slower in those benchies?

Vantage with PhysX

GTX 285: P14699 (CPU - 50551, GPU - 11889)

HD4890: P11160 (CPU - 17378, GPU - 9960)

HD4890 OC: P12645 (CPU - 17405, GPU - 11574)

HD4890 OC CFX: P17874 (CPU - 17358, GPU - 18053)

posted from novatech,4890@990/1150,since vantage scores for gtx260>4870 and they both run close in games(4870 a little better),4890 when overclocked might take over gtx285 in games, but then you can overclock a gtx285 too.:p
