Since,

3g finally over with(auctions done). Its now time for 4G.

TRAI had invited views on 4G Broadband & Wireless Discussion. Response are from Intel,Tata,Vodafone,IIT Mumbai,Reliance etc. All of them have different views

removing the red ones will allow to download the pdf files. Seems some noob did the hyper-linking stuff on the site.
 
I heard earlier the day 3G auctions will finish, two days prior to it auctions for BWA will start. Looks like things are getting serious in India and i hope everything goes fast and nicely.
 
Actually 4G is in nascent stage...so nascent that there is definition of it still!!

Some say anything above 10mbps is 4G..but Etisalat's 3G Network(Powered by Ericcson) in Egypt has 42Mbps of peak download rate!

btw..JFI, Etisalat is also among the bidders of 3g..

Now i just hope that any operator that wins 3G auction will provide us with those speeds....atleast in Cities :)
 
Tikona advertises their WiBRO product as 4G. Is it really 4G or some scoop??
And with the bids for 3G going so high I dont see the 3G services to be affordable for unlimited plans.

At the moment, no one really knows when the 3g auctions will finish. The 3g auctions have been in the 100% activity stage for a few days now and yet the bidding is still going on. The BWA auctions begin 2 days after the 3g auctions finish. You can check the progress on the 3g auction here:

I've been checking the DOT website every evening to see if the 3g auction is over or not, but it just keeps going on! The day's progress is updated every evening.
 
^^Same here!

I daily check to know the updates..but the cruel design of the auction(operators point of view) is elongating it but by bringing more money to govt.
 
^ yea! and i have heard that 3g services will be rolled out by the end of the year because paper work takes a lot of time, i am very much happy with the mobile services and tariff in our country just wish they will roll out high speed internet at nominal rates.
