I am looking for new laptop. Currently using HP G6 2005AX from 2011 still working solid but due to recent heavy OS and applications its lacking back even after upgrading to SSD and 8GB RAM. I was considering Macbook pro M3 but i mostly use Microsoft apps like remote desktop, teams etc.

Mode: Online / Offline (Croma)
Budget: Upto 1L
Uses: Treading View charts, Simultaneously chrome tabs 20-25 (For 20-30min), Teams.
Preferred Brand: Asus, HP, DELL (Any will do as long they have good service in tire2 city)
Preferred:
1. Metal body or similar but other than plastic. (Current HP is plastic and its hinges are broken even after light handling)
2. 4 Cell Battery - Optional (As long as backup is good)
3. No Touch Screen
4. NO GPU - Optional (It will heat a lot...? )

I am not updated with latest best technology for screens / resolutions so please suggest anything which last longer.

Thank You

I haven't mentioned prices because you can get much better deal offline but all 3 should be within your required ballpark. The screen on the Elitebook is terrible, besides that it should be a well built unit. Better screens are available at higher segments of this range.

Personally, I've had good experience with Asus and upper tier HP (Zbook & Elitebook). Also was happy with Sony Vaio, this brand still exists but under new management, but the team is the same. They have now pivoted to premium products with great QC but hard to find.

Also GPU won't heat a lot unless you play games. While working on documents or web browsing, the GPU is barely to draw the UI and playing video, if any. Even laptops without a dedicated GPU have integrated graphics which perform the same tasks mentioned above.

If looking for windows laptop specifically, See if you can get a laptop with Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370. This processor is said to better than similarly priced Intel meteor or even lunar lake. It's integrated gpu performance is best so far for any igpu.

And if you're OK with macOS, then checkout macbook M4 air/pro depending on your usecase.
