50 % GPU usage in COD Black Ops

system config is c2d e6750 @ 3.0 + gtx 280 + 4 gb ddr2
GPU usage in cod black ops is 50% on avg
it barely reaches at 60-70%
why so?
same thing happening with brother in arms hells highway, james bond blood stone
is this because of my cpu bottle-necking the gpu?
if it is because of bottleneck thn why the heck usage of gpu is 99% in crysis and metro 2033
I m really confused now :S

My fluctuates from 80% to min 65%,Most probably your cpu is the bottleneck ,this game uses almost 80% of my cpu.

cpu is bottlenecking ,try to overclock cpu to remove the bottleneck. overclocking helps with cpu intensive games.

according to u gpu usage is low for PCIE slot

It might be the CPU, E6750 though a very capable CPU, is now pretty old. Would suggest you try to overclock. Also, the PCIE 2.0 hardly makes a difference.

COD BO is famous for utilizing the CPU more than it should, and undermining the GPU subsystem. Application of the patch would make the situation slightly better.
