5Net Issue of disconnection

Hi all

I recently subscribed to a 5net 768 kbps UL plan. I am getting a constant 60KBPS (kilo BYTES ps) on utorrent. Which should be 96kBps according to my plan. What speed are you guys getting. Please mention the DL speed as well as the plan subscribed to.

Also, the main point of posting here, is that my net gets disconnected randomly at any point of time. I have an atheros gigabit card onboard on my m4A78T-E mobo(ASUS). Can this be a problem, as it is not Realtek.

Also, how do you use the 5net hubs? Please do tell.

I am using Fivenet here in ghatkopar for quite sometime now.
I am not facing any such problem of disconnection.

Also to test your download speed, check from some regular site.
I am on 384UL plan i get arnd 40-50 regularly from any sites.

Torrent speeds are different and keeps on varying.
 
96 is theoretical...but practical atmost i guess 80-85 u must get.....as mentioned it depends on sites too
 
Thanks for the reply cbotadra. Actually when I go to my network connections, I see two things: One is the broadband connectioon(5net) and the other one that is supposed to be LAN is named as network 11 or network 12 or network 5 or something along those lines. Does it happen with you too? Please post a screenshot if possible. I am at work right now, I ll post my screenshot wen i get home. Anybody else having 5net can also answer this. Again, thanks for replying cbotadra.

Also, the speed issue has been resolved. Now I am getting 90 kbps on torrents and about 100 kbps from any http site on an average.

The only issue that remains is of the frequent random disconnections. Please help.
 
^^ How random are the disconnections??

FYI... Fivenet disconnects after every 1GB of data transfer... set it to automatically re-connect after it disconnection...
 
Whenever I am using MSN, it disconnects every 15 mins or so (not only the internet, I am talking about the whole connection). Otherwise, it disconnects between 8PM and 12PM at random intervals.

I have notices one more weird thing. That is the data transfer actually stops, but teh connections are still shown as active. I have to manually disable the lan card and enable it again and then connect to the broadband connection. This is getting very annoying really. And, no in my case it doesnt get disconnected after every 1 GB of data transfer.

I have already set the net to connect automatically if it gets disconnected. But when the computer thinks that the net is connected while its actually not, the automatic connection thing does nt even come into the picture. I am puzzled. .I am using win 7 RC1. Can this be a cause?
 
Okay solved it
IT was my atheros network adapter. Its not workin properly on windows 7 due to some driver issue.
