64% of MS Vulnerabilities Mitigated by Removing Admin Rights

But without admin rights we cannot install anything, or have limited rights. Our systems will be as good as the ones we use at coll/office. I feel we should use admin rights if we are secure enough.

Yup for installing most software you do need permissions but that doesn't make it necessary to always be using an admin account.

Most times when you require elevated permissions, Windows prompts you for this and you can verify which application is requesting this before keying in the admin id/pass. So this eliminates the need to be using an admin account throughout.

Regular user here, Stupid to login as Admin.

I don't use any anti viruses, or anti-xyz bull shit-

And yeah my PC is clean still ;-) no irregular network activities.

LOL,

let the flame wars begin :)

Anyways, regarding the original topic, i still think the whole security depends on the User, no matter how secure you keep the OS :)

Hi,

Anyways, regarding the original topic, i still think the whole security depends on the User, no matter how secure you keep the OS

I agree with you, no matter how secure you are even a small mistake can sometimes coz troubles !! for Ex some of those dreaded Keygens one uses, some unknown attachment that one opens by mistake !

These worms first deactivate the Antivirus,So you are left unsecured even if you have the security in place !

Well Its always safe to play SAFE !! So I as well suggest that Admin account should not be used as primary login !

Regards.
