What's up folks. Hope y'all are having a good day.
I am a pretty avid reader (chronically addicted, basically) and I currently own a slew of devices to support my reading habits. Apart from printed versions, most of my e-books are read on a Kindle I own or on my PC and the rest of them I read on my phone whenever I am travelling. I started my reading habits with comics and naturally, I am still heavily invested in reading comics, manga and other comic formats from around the globe. I hoard a lot of them locally because I despise modern apps, and I specifically use Mihon on Android to read them. This is the use case for which I am looking for a tablet currently.
My plan is to slowly ditch the Kindle and reading on my phone and move to a single Android tablet which can serve as both my e-books and comics reader. The reason for this is convenience and hence I am looking for a smaller tablet, not 10 inch ones which are in trend currently. The main purpose of this is for handheld comfort, and eye comfort. Reading uncompressed comics, gigabytes in size, usually takes a bit of power, so I am searching for a pretty powerful tablet which might also be used to occasionally host a couple of hours of Stardew Valley sesh.
I've looked into color e-ink displays as well in the market, but they seem redundant and worse for the price they go for, and I much rather have a small tablet with full-fledged Android capability than a stunted device. I already use the e-ink mode in modern Android on my phone and that will suffice when I am not on the adaptive brightness for comics specifically. Furthermore, I am not in favor of iPads because storage management and app support on iOS is a mess and I need to frequently manage, organize and backup my hoard of data.
Budget is not of concern as I am still pondering over the thought of buying it and will probably invest into the device in a couple of months.
Thanks.
Devices I currently own:
Kindle 2nd Gen (E-books)
Honor x9b (Comics, Manga)
Three months of reading addiction (this is only East Asian comics, lmao)
