I am very confused wether i should buy the 7600gs or the 7600 gt?
is there a major difference in performance or should i settle for the 7600gs

welll .. 7600GT should do better .. unless ofcourse u can get a ddr3 ver. of the 7600GS (or the 7300GT even ) .. then the performance is almost the same ...

Pardon me, I am new to this forums, but why everyone is so highly inclined over to NVIDIA here?. According to my thinking, X1800GTO offers better performance with more features at higher resolution.

What you would like to add more on this issue, Funky?

He asked a opinion on 7600GS and 7600GT, so told we told him to go for 7600GT. X1800GTO is not easily available(atleast am sure abt it in chennai) and it'll be priced more than 7600GT.

and What issue do you think is added?

I have seen saphire series of cards in sp road. The guy I buy from(he is from my native place) said that all cards including the high end ones are available. Saphire is a good company so he can have a look at the x1800 gto...:)

HI
People nsists only on nvidia because stiill it has better support for open gl than ati. As ati have comited that catalyst 5.11 driver would fix it but it still need improvement:rofl:

Hey and about card go for the opty 7600 gt. It is very decent card:tongue:

There are no longer any issues with ATI gl drivers. In fact its NV drivers that have issues if you use GL2.0. Messed up shader compiler .

Shashwat Pant, I hope you are not talking about the year 2002. And as Chaos mentioned, ATIs OpenGL optimizations are pretty good now.

And due to the fact, I am tired enough to see "Texture Shimmering" with NVIDIA cards on MANY games, and their weird sampling patterns for Anti Aliasing :)

Edit: And Shashwat Pant, may I know how many ATI cards have you used till now?, just curious?

X1800GTO is a fantastic card if it can be had for the right price. However getting ATI cards in India is the biggest pain. The distys suck really bad.

yea true, i had to source it from the us to get it at a decent price. Its a very nice card, and the price you pay for all the features of the X1800 series is completely worth it. The price in india was 15k at the time :O

X1800GTO is decent.

Sorry for going little offtopic, but I think your system is very nice, Hunter. But, what is your CPU temperature at full load?

Lol its nothing compared to all the other rigs here on TE. But im happy with it :D The load temp depends on the ambient temp, but ranges from 43-47. Usually its like 44-45.
