Graphic Cards 7900GT Extreme vs 7600GT SLI

Not really, unless u want the best performance possible i dont think its worth it going for sli. For one thing, the product will be phased out after about a year or more so u wont even be able to get a another card after 3-4 years. And the next generation cards will perform much better for the same price while offering more features. Unless ur going for a 7900 GTX/X1900XT SLI/CF i dont think its worth going for SLI unless u plan to buy another card fairly soon.

Archer, 3-4 years down the line, youll see new things, LikE DX10, DX11 whatever.

Eg. adding an X1900XT after 1 year, to your current X1900XT is worthless. Since its DX9 and not DX10.

I have a single 7800GTX and I'm planning to get another in around six months. I'm guessing prices will have fallen at least a little compared to what I paid for the single :oppo: . The new SLi setup should last me until proper DX10 games are launched :ohyeah: , but 3 years is way too much. In three years time the whole graphic scene might've changed what with those new PPU thingy coming up and both Ati and nVidia also jumping onto the same bandwagon.

^^ Unlikely 7800 series are being phased out, you will be lucky to find one forget a cheap one.
yep its true, even while they are available, the Highest performance cards are not going to get any drastic price reductions. 6800 Ultra still sells for around 30k. Not too far from 7800GTX and 7900GTX in price although its a bit old.
