Graphic Cards 7900gt vs 7600gt (7900gt obviously!)

@ Nikhil: It depends on my cousin and my uncle, my cousin is ready to buy the 7600gt but I would prefer something better and future proof.If my uncle is free, then Ill ask him for the x1800xt (mostly 512mb) and then ask my bro for a CPU like a 3700+ or a Opty (Not the AM2 or Conroe, they are too expensive).And then buy a mobo from here.

AMD 3700+ San Diego or Opty 144/148
A8N-E (From here)
X1800XT 256mb or 512 mb (512mb mostly)
OCZ Titanium 2GB (2 x 1GB) (Maybe later, happy with 1gb right now)
Powersafe 450 (from here)
So, if compared to my current rig:
AMD 2000+
VIA crappy mobo 133 fsb :rofl:
1gb PC 2700
Geforce FX 5700LE 128 mb
My upgrades are more than welcomed in my arms
@Amer: I was never a fortunate rich ass 15 year old who upgraded hes system every 2 months.Im more than happy with this upgrade considering Im using other people's hard earned money to buy them
Once I start working and I know my job would pay me very well, Ill make sure Ill have the best of the best of the rigs around with my own money.I would feel more satisfied and happy that way.Thats just my way of looking at things.

SP 450 would have been enough really. X1800 XT is not that big a power hog even. A powersafe 450 also should be enough but it would be safer to get a 500W one.
OMFG ? Here too, dude i remember 1 year back when i got my 6800GT you said you will buy the same system in coming months. 6 months later you say after 12th exams. Now 1 year later you say after 12th results. Soon you will say after marriage. Dude this upgrading can get very very confusing.
Before buying Karan's opty 95% told wait for Conroe, before getting a 7900GT 40%(Not this Ati dominated forum, die fascists) said get a x1900xt. Dude there is always something better to buy, always. If you say you will wait, wait and you will find something more better. Its not like you got a uber Dell 21" monitor or anything. Just like any average hardcore Indian Gamer you got a decent 17" monitor and 1280x1024 with 4xAA and 16XAF is enough according to me.
You currently have a 5700Ultra or something, leaping from that shit ass old card to a 7900GT will be like wanking yourself and going directly to a stage when you are blown by a chick. You will get millions of opinions. You just gotta choose one.
The 7900GT's defect is like saying X360's defect, it happens. No need to exaggerate to such a level so as to convince a buyer to hate 7900GT forever. The 7900GT is said to be the best value/performance card to be ever produced by Nvidia. Get one from Mumbai with a warranty, it will help when you resell it.
Buy your damn system fast rey.

Buying a 7900GT right now is like buying a car with faulty brakes. You know they'll fail but u don't know when 
. If you have no clue about how many 7900GT cards are failing, please don't state your opinion. There is nothing like ATI dominated or NV dominated. I buy whatever is the better product. I had nv upto the GF4 Ti series cos they were better products than ATI. But after that, they never had a compelling product and each card of mine after that has been an ATI other than a cheapo temp FX5600. Right now NV is in even bigger trouble with its vista drivers. They better fix it soon or else will be royally $cr3wed soon. In the current state, an x300 hypermemory has better GUI performance than a 6800 ultra. I have no clue exactly why that is the case.

I have no clue exactly why that is the case.I really have no problem with the 7900gt, but not one or 10 but MANY people have warned me against the 7900gt, for you its OK, you told me you are buying the card from India, so you have no problem with warantee, even if your card is defective, you can replace it without hasstle, as for me, I am importing the card, so I am voiding warantee and taking a risk even with the x1800xt but the risk factor is no where as high as compared to the 7900GT's.whateve_r said:
