I went over to Storagereview and selected 8 SATA drives for a head to head comparisons and here are the results...

Hitachi Deskstar 7K500 no NCQ (500 GB SATA)
Western Digital Caviar WD2500KS (250 GB SATA)

Hitachi Deskstar 7K400 no TCQ (400 GB SATA)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 with NCQ (500 GB SATA)
Western Digital Raptor WD740GD with TCQ (74 GB SATA)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 with NCQ (400 GB SATA)

Like me......thanks a bunch easy and I am a beliva in Hitachi now.....

PS I have an SLK3000B in which i have a 120mm fan in front (enough to cool the hitachi drive????)

Yes 1 120mm @ the back also.... I have thought of removing the prescott CAG and replacing it with another LED fan (have many of those collected now)......and also bolting another on the PCI e vent grill...... what'dya think??? Is it worth it, will it b'com noisy???

The fans are pretty silent, and of taiwan make but no real brand....
