You are the 12th person(Including a Guy from Bajaj) who gave me the advice to stick with Unicorn
That is what i'm suppose to do,i guess
Probably get a paint job done and get it properly serviced as it has gone messier during the so-called Mumbai rains
Yup, people are going all gaga over the new Pulsar200NS, but what I'd like to see is how long the smoothness of the gearbox and engine lasts. I have test ridden the the new Pulsar, and indeed it was as smooth as the Unicorn, if not better. But will that be the same even after 5 years / 50,000kms of riding? I highly doubt if Bajaj can pull that off...
Another thing that worries me is the fact that it has three spark plugs - meaning more heat and engine wear. They have given liquid cooling to tackle that situation, but that liquid cooling unit has some problems of its own. A friend of mine who got the bike, had low coolant level problems within the 2nd day and again on the 7/8th day...
Here's my question :
The paint on the fiber part at the rear side under the unicorn sticker has been rubbed due to the use of a helmet holder(The one that looks like a bicycle tyre lock)
Will doing a detailing/paint job cover the exposed fiber(Literally can be seen as the paint has come off) ??
I've also got those marks on my bike, due to the saddle bags, helemets etc... I think that can be fixed by the painter...
How old is your unicorn?
Maybe add some performance upgrades to it![]()
Almost 5yrs old now
I had been using K&N filter for 10days but didn't really get much benefit apart from the nice pickup and the sleek sound plus it kinda ruins the whole Honda Engine theory(Performance / Durability)
If your budget allows you... maybe you should probably get a new carburettor. When I complained to my mechanic that the bike doesn't have the smooth feeling and pcik-up of the Honda engine... he asked me to get a new carb fixed. I was like... how would that make a difference? yea purana wala accha khasa chal raha hai - no need to change rite now.
Six months later, after some research on carburettors, I finally decided to get a new carb. But to my horror... Honda jacked up the prices of the carburettor to 5k!! My mechanic suggested a put in Pulsar 200 (old one) carburettor which would be as good as Honda, with more power and pick-up (costs 2.5k).. On his word, I got that done.. and boy, my bike is now as good as a new Honda Unicorn... pick-up throughout the range from 0-90 has increased nicely.. mileage depends on how I ride the bike... ripping on high speeds gives around 38kmpl and decent riding on 40-50 gives around 42-44kmpl
